Farmers Markets: The How, What and Why
A farmers market is a place of determined growth depending on the ambitions of the vendor. It is a snippet into an entire cities culture, and a way for people to connect, and to share stories. Now why is that important you may ask. This is the original way information spreads. Vendors and customers learn something new about each other and the world every day. Markets are the hub of improvement and the basis of capitalism. Beyond that each customer is supporting hand-crafted nutritional quality items, and their payment is going straight to the people who deserve the most, the actual producers. Rather then funding CEO's and business executives benefits, they are promoting the product they are buying and ensuring its continued creation. Small business drive economies and it is their continued growth that is reflected in the expansion of entire countries. They offer people another chance, a different way to be successful and love what they are doing. Many farmers and small businesses also promote sustainability and environmental consciousness. Their commitment to their resources and their product, combined with their autonomy enables them to focus on nutrition, the environment and their customers. In developing countries, farmers markets should be encouraged and in developed countries they should be examples. In order to grow viably a communities need three things 1) health 2) education and 3) financial freedom. A farmers market promotes all three disguised behind bustling streets, delectable smells and tastes, beautiful colors and interesting people.
